A visionary artist who explores womanhood and it's element of play and connection through drawing — Alexandria shares her most treasured destinations in Athens where she is currently staying for "a sort of extended residency I'd call it".

In a city where I’ll think you’ll feel both at home and as a tourist all at once - I moved here as a long term tourist I would call it - caught somewhere between the ruins it’s ancient history, and its rebirth from its gritty recent past, the city has an energy unlike anything else You might have to work a little harder than in other European capitals but it’s full of gems waiting to be explored.
ATHENS DESTINATIONS
(Eat) Possibly my favourite restaurant, Linou Soumpasis kai Sia is that special refined kind of - in season - simple - modern thing a Londoner like me loves. A burst of culinary creativity within an fromer candle shop . The bread is worth the trip alone.
(Drink) Tanini Agape Mou - translating as “tannins my love” is a Natural wine lover's heaven, sit here on a heady hot summer night and try some of Greece’s best.
(Views) Watch the sunset from one of Athens' many hills. Mount Lycabettus for me has the best view, a full 360 degrees of the city and an amazing direct view of the Acropolis and Pantheon. Walk up here to watch the sunset, and grab a drink, or to miss the crowds (and for the early rises ) hike up at the sunrise.
(Art) For an alternative to the classic museum choices, and lesser known Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, this private art collection in the area of Pangrati, whose permanent collection houses an incredible collection from Rodin, Degas, to Miro and Picasso. It also has a cute cafe in a leafy courtyard,to stop for a coffee.
(Escape) Lake Vouliagmeni and swim in warm therapeutic waters 20km south from the centre of Athens. Originally the swimming spot of the royal family, the lake is completely secluded and is a mini oasis and a break from the city buzz.
