Excited to feature the very clever Ritsch Sisters — Anna in NYC and Maria in Vienna — whose individual and collaborative work in photography and art continually explores duality, connection, and inspires dialogue for change.
“We recently set off on an exciting journey through Europe, visiting Milan, Athens, and Barcelona for art residencies and exhibitions. In this ‘Table Talk’, we’ll share some of our favorite moments, from art and architecture to food and more.” — Anna & Maria Ritsch
MILAN
In Milan, we got invited to stay at Villa Clea, a beautiful and unique space created by Matteo and Allina Corbellini, where we had an inspiring art residency and exhibition.
Go to Cucchi for a ‘cornetto con crema’ and ‘un caffè’ – simply delicious!
Don’t miss Bar Basso, a classic and a scene during fashion, art and design week, where the famous Negroni Sbagliato was invented.
Fondazione Prada is always worth a visit for its incredible exhibitions.
We also discovered Bar Nico, a new wine bar founded by Chiara Pino and Riccardo Ganelli, located in the charming Acquabella area.
ATHENS
In Athens we like to stop by the Hyper Hypo Bookstore, they have a great selection of contemporary art books and it's almost impossible to walk out without a great find. They also have a gallery space downstairs.
Go to Diporto for lunch. It is a small space with just a few tables in a basement. Once you sit down you’ll get a carafe of wine, bread, salt and pepper and a couple minutes later food is served. There is no menu and they serve whatever they have that day and it is delicious!
We visited TheBenaki Museum Piraeus, as we are part of this year's Athens Photo Festival, which takes place until July 28. Walk around Plaka and get lost.
If you have some time left, the Vorres Museum (located a bit outside of Athens) surrounded by a beautiful garden is worth a visit.
BARCELONA
In Barcelona, don’t miss a private visit at VASTO Gallery (Thursday’s + Friday’s), founded by Carmen Riestra. We are represented by them in Europe and got lucky to stay in this incredible space for our visit here.
Masa Vins in Poblenou is just delicious. They have a great selection of natural wine and their food is so so good!
The Fundació Joan Miró, with its extensive collection of the artist's work, was both inspiring and mesmerizing, don’t miss it.
The Barcelona Pavilion, designed by Mies van der Rohe, with its precise and minimalist architecture is always worth a visit.
